Week 11!

Lets do something new with Merengue!
Last week we had an awesome Rueda workshop. As I was sick, we split you into a beginner group, and the more advanced group. The beginners got through a couple of the basics, and the advanced group learnt some brand new moves (uno, hatchiverra, para ba ho, sombrero!). It was an awesome workshop - good work guys! Keep jumping into those Ruedas and you will pick it up soon enough!
Have you been doing Merengue, and wondering whether that was it? Well, this week JC is going to attempt to do something a little different with it! I'm sure you've jumped in a Merengue circle and have bounced around, thinking that you have this Merengue thing down. Well, Merengue is all about a particular step, with a particular feeling - why don't we show you that step, and find that feeling! Then, we're gonna mix it up a little!
Thanks to y'all who came along and had a dance for Global Villiage. It was hella fun! Who doesn't love an opportunity to get their Rueda on!
This Thursday Night @ the Empire Hotel is LASA's next PAR-TAY! Entry is $10 and the doors open @ 8pm! I'm sure that a number of us will even meet up at say 7pmish at the Hawken Drive shops for a bite to eat (Hint, Hint!). Make sure you don't miss it as (and i say this every time, but i'll say it again!) LASA parties are the BEST latin parties in Brisbane! Latin dancing with real Latinos! Nuff said.
At the Fringe Bar this Friday night, Oxfam is holding an event to stand against poverty. Its called Connect 4 Effect, and is from 6.30pm onwards! Head to their website (www.oxfamUQ.org) for more information and tickets!
Apart from that its business as usual! But . . .expect next year's executive committee role descriptions to be posted this week!
