Market Day is this week!!!
Thats right, come along this Wednesday for market day. You are all invited to have a dance with us. We will be set up in the Great Court from 9.30am to 3pm. We would appreciate it if you could come along in Black and Red, but most importantly, we would like as many people dancing up a storm outside our stall. So come along whether you have 5 minutes, or all day. We will be there!!!!
On that note, Market Day is the perfect opportunity to sign up for UQ Dance for 2010. Its still only $2 (that's crazy man!). Make sure you get your friends to come along and sign up as well. If you need incentive - Camel's pretty and side-burned face will be there! But if that isn't enough (but i can't imagine why), Market Day this year is going to be HUGE and there will be free stuff everywhere (and Camel's pretty face)!
This is also the last email that will be going out to the 2009 mailing list. So if you want to keep up to date with what's happening, its best you sign up on Market Day, or on any night of UQ Dance, or jump on the website and sign yourself up to this year's list.
Don't forget that UQ Dance is on Facebook. Be sure to join our group as you can often see who is going dancing, and when, and what events are going on!
If you were on Facebook, you would know that Market Day is this Wednesday, Brisbane has a Swing Band called Miguel and they are playing at Cloudland on Thursday, and there are people going dancing at Southbank this Friday!

Doudoule Latin Dance Camp of 2010!!!!
Here's a chance to broaden your Dance styles, Techniques, Dance buddy connections and have an AWESOME weekend at the Gold Coast ALLL IN ONE!!
The camp site is situated at the beautiful beaches of Burleigh Heads, Gold Coast and can accommodate 500+ people. The cabins are very large and can accommodate up to 7 people in a cabin. Each cabin has its own en suite and you won’t have to bring sheets, blankets or pillows for the camp. It is all provided in the cabins.
With this year’s haul equalling over 35 national and and international teachers who will be teaching from a variety of Beginners to Intermediate/Advanced Workshops and routines as well as performing at one of the two pumping parties there’s entertainment all round for everybody!
Meals include breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner and supper in a very large and very clean interactive food hall. Last year the food was awesome and I defiantly no complaints, the cooks were just purely awesome and I have no doubt for them this year.
If you are tempted, let me sum it up for you. You will have the opportunity to travel to the gold coast with a bunch of enthusiastic UQ Dance members (including myself) either by public transport of by car pooling, be accommodated for two nights right on the beach of Burleigh Heads (worth ~$100), feed 6 meals a day, be able to attend approximately 6-8 workshops (worth $60 each), Party down at two awesome parties with some amazing performances (worth ~ $120) and most of all, possibly one of the best experiences of a life time (approx. priceless- hehe)!!
So all in all you'll be receiving approximately $700 worth of entertainment, experiences and pure fun for only $265!!!!
Personally I participated in the first Doudoule Latin Dance camp of 2008 after only knowing just a few steps and had the time of my life. As a UQ Dance unit (like we had last year) it was an even greater experience, so much so that I am willing to out in all the effort I am able to repeat it this year.
