UQ Dance Troupe Facebook Page

The UQ Dance Troupe is a performance troupe open to all UQ Dance members who want to extend their dance skills and learn two new dances – Salsa Rueda and Charleston. These dances are favourites at social dancing on Wednesday nights, and they’re great fun – unlike the other dances taught at UQ Dance, they’re danced in a group, with couples swapping partners as moves are called out.

Although we are a performance troupe, our main focus in the first semester is on allowing beginners to learn the dances. So whether you’ve never danced before in your life, or if you’re an experienced dancer wanting to try something new, now is the perfect time to come along! We swap partners many times during a dance, so there’s no need to bring a partner.

Rehearsals are held every Tuesday just outside the UQ Union buildings, from 5:30pm until about 6:30pm, and are run by Troupe Leader Grevo. The first rehearsal will be in week 2, on Wednesday the 6th of March.
