There were markets. There was dancing. And there was our first exciting workshop. What a way to start semester two!

A shimmying warm welcome to all our new UQ Dancers, the new kids on the dance floor, and welcome back to UQ Dancers from last semester! It was fantastic to see so many of you and so much enthusiasm for our week one Salsa workshop. How lucky were we to have the talented duo, Nicole and JC, show us the seductively smooth moves of Salsa.

If you missed it, don’t fret, because Nicole and JC are back for another week of Salsa! We’ll be learning new beginner moves, so come join us even if you weren’t there last week. And for the seasoned Salsa dancers among us, we’re going to challenge you with an intermediate workshop in conjunction with the beginner workshop. Can you handle the moves?

OUR FIRST PICNIC! Yay!

Saturday 13 August, 12pm-5pm, New Farm Park

It’s a day about stuffing ourselves with glorious picnic snacks, running around the park like crazed Rugcutters, and even just relaxing with all the other UQ Dancers. Of course, there will be dancing – as much as you want because we have all afternoon! Check out our Facebook page for all the details (although food and dance should be all the facts you need, right?).

You bring a plate of food, we bring the tunes. Easy as that!

And here are all the exciting events we have planned for the semester:

Picnic 1 – Saturday 13th August, New Farm Park

UQ Dance/Quest Combined BBQ & Workshop! – Friday 19th August, UQ

Casablanca – Sunday 4th September, Caxton St

Movie Night - Friday 23rd September, UQ

Picnic 2 - Sunday 16th October, New Farm Park

End of Semester Dance Party and BBQ! - Friday 28th October, UQ

Remember, everything you’ll ever need to know about UQ Dance can be found at our Facebook page or our website.

We’ll see you tomorrow for Salsa!
